are you washing your face wrong? 

everything you need to know.

i know washing your face seems like just another step in your beauty routine. another step you do half-asleep right? but, according to experts the way you wash your face is just as in important as doing it the first place.

1. wash twice at night

to properly cleanse your skin of the days build-up, don't just cleanse once, cleanse twice! this will help to remove all dirt, bacteria and makeup. the first wash should just be a gentle cleanse, while on the second wash you should massage in the cleanser much deeper into the skin, including the hairline (refer to tip.3). this tip only needs to be done at nightime!

2. slow down

when washing your face, go slow. most people rush cleaning their face but actually you should be taking your time when washing. make sure to massage the product in and leave it enough time to fully penetrate into your skin.

3. the water temp

using warm (not hot!) water to wash your face will open your pores and help remove dirt more effectively than cold water. (refer to 5.the rinse off for water temp when rinsing your face)

4. the cleanser

this is my favourite cleanser of all time! i use it morning and night and it does an amazing job at reducing pores, gently removing dirt and smoothing out skin. it is lightweight and replenishes the oils in your skin naturally. just a great all round cleanser!

5. the rinse off

when rinsing off your face avoid using warm water and instead go for cold as it locks in moisture and closes your pores. when drying your face, avoid harsh scratchy material and instead go for a soft facetowel. instead of rubbing to remove water, pat your face gently instead, to remove water without irritating your skin.
